Female MCs

We were talking about making a mix of old skool female mcs.  Real mcs, with some skills, where flow and content matter.  Not nowadays where you jump up in a bikini and shake your ass kind of mc... back in the day - real hip-hop, real lyrics.  Keepin It Real as always.

Came up with an interesting (and growing) list - in no particular order.  Sorry if we missed some - which I am sure we did.

MC DJ Mischief - Gettin' Funky, Gettin' Ill

Gettin' Funky, Gettin' Ill (aka It's Complicated)
Track 2 of "Keepin It Real 2010" the KFA 20th Anniversary Mixed CD

A hyperactive journey though some old skool hip-hop, r&b, pop, and new jack. Due to the time constraints of the CD, 99 tracks were compressed into a 15 minute mix. Everything from Run-DMC, Whodini, Dana Dane, Beastie Boys, to Ice Cube, Public Enemy, 2Pac, Black Sheep, Gangstarr, to BBD, Wreckx n Effect, Keith Sweat, and even Color Me Badd, New Edition, and Lauren Wood (whaaat?)
How many of the tracks can you name??

If it makes you say "Yeah", "Damn", or just bob your head - then mission accomplished.

Peace to the World!

Digitizing Old Tapes - 30 Minutes of Mischief Side A

Here is the A-Side of the 30 Minutes of Mischief demo tape. This is the Hip-Hop / R&B side. As much as I am tempted to go back and re-edit it...it is what it is, frozen in time in '97. Back in the days...ah, you know what I mean.

30 Minutes Of Mischief - Side A by kfa

Diggin through some old mixed tapes

Just a little something to take you back...
Digitized version of the B Side of the 30 Minutes of Mischief demo tape from waaaaay back in 9D7. Probably about 25 original tapes were given out - but nothing like sharing something old on the web to make it new again.

Side B has some old skool freestyle & miami bass type stuff for your earholes. I'll get Side A - Hip Hop / R&B up later.

PEACE to the World
